Outages
June 20 - 21, 2025
As part of the rollout of the Client Gateway Expansion, there will be an outage affecting some LAA systems from 5 p.m. on Friday, June 20 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.
During this period, the following applications will be unavailable:
May 23, 2025
There will be a routine outage affecting some LAA systems from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 23 to 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 24.
During this period, the following applications will be unavailable:
May 14, 2025
The update originally scheduled for May 8 has been postponed to May 14.
The following LAA systems will now be unavailable during the times indicated below on Wednesday, May 14, as we prepare for the Client Gateway expansion in June:
- Client Gateway: 12 noon to 12 midnight
- DC Portal: 3:30 p.m. to 12 midnight
- Lawyer Portal: 5 p.m. to 12 midnight

We’re starting the transition to a new unified platform that combines the Lawyer Portal, DC Portal and Client Gateway into a single, streamlined hub, The LAA Portal.

Upcoming training
Client gateway Expansion Training
A refresher and walkthrough of using the simplified and expanded Client Gateway to help Albertans apply for LAA.
This training is for criminal roster lawyers who already have access to Client Gateway. Training for family and immigration roster lawyers who do not yet have access will be offered at a later date.
