What you’ll be doing 

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, some of the key responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist are to:

  • Act as a recruitment partner and a subject matter expect to hiring managers and other stakeholders
  • Assist in creation of recruitment tools and talent acquisition strategy with hiring managers and Human Resources Business Partners
  • Advise and coach hiring managers on recruitment process in relation to Collective Agreement and best practices
  • Ensure a consistent and transparent recruitment process
  • Develop sourcing strategies to provide an efficient pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Create and post competitions
  • Identify qualified candidates and complete telephone prescreens as required.
  • Administer any skill testing to qualified candidates
  • Develop/refine interview guides with hiring manager that correlates directly to the responsibility, qualifications and skills of the position
  • Organize and conduct interviews with hiring managers
  • Complete reference checks for selected candidates
  • Draft offer letter for successful candidates
  • Record and report on recruitment data
  • Participate in workforce planning strategies and other recruitment initiatives

Qualifications

Education and experience

  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Business, Management, Human Resources or similar
  • Minimum 5 years recruitment experience
  • Previous experience recruiting within union and professional services environment
  • Experience advising hiring managers on interpreting hiring Articles within a Collective Agreement and general recruiting best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies
  • RPR designation preferred
