Legal Aid Alberta offices and phone lines will be closed on Sept. 30, 2025, in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This one-time closure aligns with the direction Alberta Courts are taking this year.
Our JP Bail, Brydges, and EPO King’s Bench Review programs will remain available to assist individuals who have been arrested, need to speak to a bail officer on the same day, or are experiencing domestic violence. All other court services, including duty counsel, will not be available due to court closures.
As we work alongside Indigenous individuals and communities, and within Indigenous courts, we reaffirm our commitment to amplifying Indigenous voices and addressing the overrepresentation of Indigenous peoples in the justice system.
Legal Aid Alberta encourages everyone to explore resources that foster understanding, healing and support for Indigenous well-being.
