June 21 marked National Indigenous Peoples Day — a time to celebrate the rich cultures, contributions, and histories of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples across Canada. At Legal Aid Alberta (LAA), the day is also a time to reaffirm a deeper, ongoing commitment: access to justice and reconciliation.
Whether it’s cultural competency training, our work in Indigenous Courts, building relationships with Indigenous communities and expanding services to Indigenous clients, LAA is taking important steps on the reconciliation journey, every day.
