A routine systems outage is scheduled from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.
During this period, the following applications will be unavailable:
Earlier this year, we launched the Simplified Client Gateway, making it easier for users to complete applications and allowing intake officers to focus on eligibility rather than duplicating data.
In June, Gateway was integrated into the new LAA portal and expanded to support additional areas of law, enabling users to assist clients with multiple legal issues—not just criminal matters.
With our latest update on Aug. 14, we’re continuing to build on that progress. Enhancements to the Client Gateway will make form entry and processing even more intuitive and user-friendly. Lawyer Portal will also feature additional fields when submitting a status change on client-based EPO certificates, supporting more accurate outcome reporting.
What Lawyer Portal users can expect

When entering an outcome for a client-based EPO certificate you’ll be prompted to share additional information.

Notification message for inactive submit button when Related Parites are not added.

If ‘Yes’ is selected in the Related Parties field, the submit button will remain inactive and display a notification until the related parties are added.
For family applications, the placement of Resolution Services question has changed and it will now appear for all service locations, not just for matters in Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer.

The field is now underneath the Final Order question instead of being at the top of the page.

A new Mobile Number field has been added. If a number is added the other field will default to yes for ‘Client consents to receiving texts…’

This field is now required to align with its mandatory status in our application software.
The Custody Location field now includes dynamic autocomplete that also works with abbreviations

Autocomplete will show suggested locations based on your search. This also works for abbreviations.
Preferred Counsel field is now a lookup search, can search directly within field instead of a new window opening.

Users can search directly within the field.
The ORCA Number field is up to a maximum of 12 digits.
