Legal Aid Alberta named one of Alberta’s Top 85 Employers for 2026

Honour recognizes LAA’s commitment to staff well-being and access to justice.

Legal Aid Alberta has been named one of Alberta’s Top 85 Employers for 2026.

In Canada’s fastest-growing province, where employers are competing for talent in a highly competitive labour market, Alberta’s Top Employers highlights organizations that excel in supporting and engaging their employees.

This is the first time that Legal Aid Alberta has earned the top employer recognition, which speaks to the exceptional talent across the organization, but also to LAA’s unwavering commitment to provide high-quality legal representation to all Albertans, said John Panusa, KC, LAA’s president and CEO.

“When our people are supported, they can do their best work,” said Panusa. “This award reflects the care, collaboration and commitment our staff bring to their work every day — both in how they support one another and in how they serve Albertans who rely on access to justice.”

Now in its 21st year, the Alberta’s Top Employers competition evaluates organizations across eight key areas: workplace environment; work atmosphere and social connections; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

The competition results were announced by Mediacorp Canada Inc. on Jan. 27.
