Many Albertans have difficulties getting in touch us. The reasons vary from not having access to a phone or limited time to remain on hold, disinterest or mental illness, to lack of understanding or inability to retain information about their legal issues. 

 

Legal Aid Alberta is excited to introduce an alternative way for roster lawyers to get coverage for clients without having to call. LAA Client Gateway is a secure online form that lawyers can use to help Albertans apply for legal aid coverage.

Are you an existing client with LAA dealing with a new legal issue? Talk to your lawyer about getting help – no need to call LAA.

 

New clients
You can speak with duty counsel at your next criminal court appearance, and they can assist you in competing a Gateway application. Alternatively, you can call us at 1-866-845-3425 to apply.
