What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Criminal Assessment, some of the key responsibilities of the Operations Business Analyst are to:

  • In collaboration with the Manager of Operations and Criminal Assessment, identify challenges, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement in the current operations business model.
  • Regularly report trends, monthly stats and emerging concerns to the Manager of Operations and Criminal Assessment, and complete ad hoc analysis and/or report/data generation as required.
  • Daily overview of all relevant data and pre-built reports, as well as the daily collection and assembly of operations data stored primarily in Sharepoint and Power BI for reports that cannot be automated and pre-built, for the purposes of:
    • Consistent formulation and distribution of user-friendly data reports focused on performance management metrics as identified by Associate Managing Director and Manager of Operations for justice services delivery management and operations.
    • Responding quickly and accurately to requests for specific reports or data requests made by Operations or the Associate Managing Director or Justice Services Managers for the purposes of performance management and justice services management and operation.
    • Improving and enhancing the utility of current dashboards, automated or pre-built reports based in SQL Server, Power BI or Sharepoint databases to assist Legal Services in business management and operations (particularly performance management for delivery of legal services).
  • In collaboration with the Business Intelligence and Finance department and Manager of Operations and Criminal Assessment, be a central point of contact for operational reporting and data requests and assist with:
    • Improve Business unit knowledge of available data, reports and analytics for the purposes of assisting in performance management and ensure appropriate reporting requirements for operational projects and initiatives.
    • Enhance and improve existing reports for self-service delivery to business units and users, including testing.
    • Improve and enhance operational data collection routines within Justice Services business units.
    • Operationalize manual data gathering and reporting to business units for performance management purposes.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Managing Director and Manager of Operations, the Operations Business Analyst will be responsible for driving and directing the available data to appropriate Management and, when requested and directed, to maintain reporting and overview of individual measures for the purposes of performance management or in support of a performance management plan.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a business, statistics, or data focused field.
  • 1-5 years of demonstrated experience with data collection and reporting on business operations and/or financial management/measurement.
  • Experience in cross-functional committees, task forces or groups is considered an asset.
