As a publicly funded, non-profit organization, Legal Aid Alberta provides affordable legal services in family law, domestic violence, child welfare, immigration, and youth and adult criminal defense. We are Alberta-wide, with 300 staff and 1,200 private practice lawyers helping people overcome their legal challenges in more than 75 communities across the province.

Reporting to the VP of Justice Services, some of the key responsibilities of the Director of Operations – Quality position is to:
Collaborate with the leadership team and cross-functional business units to align business activities with organizational objectives and strategy.
Design and continuously improve the contribution measurement, reporting, and management framework for distinct teams and functions across LAA offices.
Develop methodologies to assess individual and team contributions against key performance indicators (KPIs) and make recommendations for enhancement.
Utilize data driven decision making by Creating and implementing data collection, reporting, and visualization tools, including dashboards, to empower stakeholders to make informed business decisions.
Provide support to the justice services managers.
Infuse a client-focused and value-added perspective when assessing, designing, or reporting on operational and quality initiatives, internal policies, and data collection activities.
Carry out any additional responsibilities or tasks as delegated by the VP of Justice Services.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience in operations management, quality measures, metrics, and data analysis; process improvement.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Proficiency in developing and implementing reporting tools, data visualization, and dashboards.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strategic mindset with the ability to align operational activities with organizational goals.
Strong understanding of systems thinking and its application to business operations.
