Opportunity is calling. Join our Client Services team at Legal Aid Alberta.

As the Courthouse Intake and Assessment Officer, you will play an important role in the justice system helping some of Alberta’s most disadvantaged people every day. In this position, you will make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of people from diverse backgrounds, including families, youth, new immigrants to Canada, refugees, and marginalized populations in conflict with the law.

What you’ll be doing

  • Interact with clients at the Calgary courthouse to determine if they’re eligible for legal aid.
  • Refer clients to the appropriate legal team, based on established guidelines.
  • Support LAA Duty Counsel lawyers at the courthouse.
  • Computer data entry and record keeping.
  • Help clients with payments plans.
  • Contribute your ideas to further improve LAA services.

To be successful in the role, you will have at least two years of work experience in jobs with a customer service focus.

Post-secondary diploma or certificate preferred. Security clearance is required.
