Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, LSC Intra- Day Operations, the Administrative Support II is responsible for various administrative and clerical duties in support of Legal Aid Alberta Client Services. The work environment is within a Contact Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for weekly mobile and in person banking, receiving and posting mail-in cheques
  • Answering clients call on the Credit Card Payment Line
  • Analyzing and distributing both electronic and hard copy correspondences daily, and pick up of mail for all business units
  • Performing data entry, scanning, and uploading of client documents
  • Creating lists and maintaining office and lunchroom supplies and ordering various supplies with outside vendors
  • Managing invoicing for supplies and receivables
  • May be required to lift up to 25 lb packages
  • Other duties as assigned to assist with client processing, including assisting other business units


Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1 -2 years office experience preferably in a law related environment
  • A certificate or diploma in Administration is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered
  • Experience with cash handling, banking and/or accounts receivable is an asset
  • Must have strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Adobe PRO

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent organization, conflict resolution, communication and problem-solving skills are required
  • The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision and use own initiative
  • Ability to manage own time and revolve prioritizations as needs change
  • Strong sense of responsibility and the ability to exercise good judgement in recognizing scope of authority
  • Ability to adapt in a changing work environment


  • You must be able to meet security clearance for Department of Justice databases (e.g. JOIN)
