The Legal Aid Alberta (LAA) Speakers Bureau is a community service provided by LAA staff members that volunteer to speak to community groups, support groups, schools, and other agencies throughout the province, educating people and answering their questions about Alberta’s legal aid system.

Presentations are typically designed to provide the audience with an overview of Legal Aid Alberta, including programs and services, legal matters covered, and eligibility requirements. However, specialized presentations are welcomed and can be accommodated. (Example: information tailored to family law matters, youth criminal justice issues, etc.)

Groups that have invited Legal Aid Alberta to speak include:

  • Edmonton Centre for Equal Justice
  • The Support Network
  • DECSA (Distinctive Employment Counseling Services of Alberta)
  • Cold Lake Public Library.
