Recognition

It is important for lawyers to be meaningfully recognized and celebrated for their contribution in providing access to justice to Albertans in need. Since 2008, Legal Aid Alberta has been celebrating lawyers’ contribution to access to justice, through support of the LAA program, by awarding lawyers with LAA Access to Justice Awards. All lawyers who are on the roster are eligible to be nominated.

While the LAA Access to Justice Awards are a celebration of all Alberta’s lawyers participation in providing access to justice to Albertans in need, awards are presented to individual lawyers as per a nomination process.  One Roster lawyer (private bar) from each LAA region, and one LAA staff lawyer, representative of the organization as a whole, will are recognized. 

Nominations begin for the 2010 Access to Justice Awards will begin in February of 2010, so stay tuned for the call for nominations.
