A: Most employers, landlords, and service providers are regulated by the provincial government.  The Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA) deals with areas regulated by the federal government.  These include:

  • federal departments and agencies;
  • crown corporations;
  • banks;
  • airlines;
  • TV and radio;
  • telephone companies;
  • buses and railways that go between provinces; and
  • Aboriginal peoples and their land.
